MSN Unveils Live Search

MSN has publicly released Live Search. The revamped version of its search portal. Full of fun and some surprises.

This is definitely a step forward for MSN search as the atmosphere is by far the best for any SEO. Here were brought into the search results rather than paid listings, which remain out on the right. A little more subdued then we would expect for any search company.

The QnA Beta is MSN’s answer to Google Answers. The images have some nice mouseovers which offer an enlarged version.

The web search offers “related searches” so we can do our keyword research right away, and the results numbers seem realistic and not inflated from the “size wars”.

All in all this is a worthy search experience. With a nice local map view and Scratch Pad.

This gets 5 stars in usability and achievement in search. Its nice to see that others feel design is psychological and effects our mood. This is a well designed atmosphere, much more tranquil then previous versions.
